10 Truths: Kassia Meador

Kassia Meador

  • Something about you that might surprise others
  • I’m really sensitive. It’s easy to make me cry. In some ways I might seem tough as heck but I feel so much. And it’s such a wonderful release.
  • What’s your favorite age?
  • Right now. I’m the most empowered I’ve ever been.
  • What do you admire most in others?
  • I think in others, we see different things about ourselves. We’re all looking at mirrors of ourselves, and I really appreciate that opportunity to get more perspective. I think that’s something really beautiful about friendship and love. It’s a great opportunity to see yourself more clearly.
  • Something that turns you off immediately?
  • I can’t stand selfies. Especially when people are selfie-sticking. Maybe it’s less of a selfie thing and more of a narcissism thing. I understand that we have these tools to get our thoughts, feelings, and stories out there, but there’s nothing that bugs me more than when people are on their phones constantly and can’t look you in the eye. There’s so much separation. People are walking off of cliffs doing PokemonGo. That’s the thing that bugs me the most. When people are not living in their true power. When they choose to keep their heads down, rather than looking up to see what’s in front of them.
  • What makes you smile?
  • Sunrise and sunset.
  • What’s your biggest insecurity or fear?
  • Fear itself.
  • When do you feel like the best version of yourself?
  • When I’m in the ocean. When I’ve meditated, been in the water and gotten some work done. If I just surf and meditate and don’t get work done, things get a little chaotic. When it’s all in balance, that’s the best ever.
  • Words you live by?
  • Live fully, be present. Those are things I’m constantly reminding myself of. It’s easy to get wrapped up in how fast the world moves, and be derailed. It’s important to step back from yourself and the world. It’s a constant process.
  • What have you yet to figure out?
  • A lot of things. I don’t know shit. I’m just doing the best I can every day to stay on top of myself, to always be learning, sharing, shifting, growing and evolving.
  • What have you figured out?
  • That no matter what, go back to the breath. Everything comes from there.
