I’m hosting a movie night with THINX as part of their WILD Women series and you should come!
My film choice is Whale Rider, a New Zealand film directed by Niki Caro and featuring a young Keisha Castle-Hughes.
I first saw this movie around 15-years-old. I didn’t know what feminism was, had never used the word before. But something lit up inside of me as I watched this young Māori girl defy expectations and fight for her chance to be equal.
Come hang out, eat pizza, and if you don’t cry you’re a total weirdo.
There is no fee for attending, but please bring a box of pads or tampons to donate to our event partner Femme Care. RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org.
